Due to budget constraints the interfaith chaplin's salary at the Laguna Honda Hospice has been cut.
Since then the chaplain has continued to carry out his duties supporting the patients of the hospice, their friends,
families, the medical staff and volunteers for free. He cannot do this forever with no money coming in,
so the community is going to raise the funds.

To that end we held a Heaven Can't Wait fundraising gala on Saturday, December 6th
to save the Laguna Honda interfaith Chaplain service.

This web site will remain open until the chaplain's salary is reinstated.
P

The role of the Chaplain is to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and their families.
He is part of the interdisciplinary team working closely with staff and volunteers
to support a sacred space for the dying and their families. It can be as simple as saying prayer
or as complex as a rich exploration about what death means to someone who is dying.
The chaplain focuses on the faith/beliefs of the patient, supporting their needs
and helping them find or maintain meaning and self-worth.
